Glenella State School has a long and proud history since its formation on 7 May 1879. Although not its original name, in 1912 the school was renamed Glenella State School.
The school is located approximately 7km from the 'city heart' of Mackay in a growing inner suburb with a range of neighbouring facilities.
Glenella State School caters for students from Prep Year through to Year 6 in a variety of 'multi-age' and 'straight' Year level classrooms.
Our school maintains many of the qualities of a small school whilst offering the school community access to programs and facilities also found in larger schools. We value positive, productive partnerships with all members of the school community and we are proud of our links with aspects of 'environmental education' which we all actively participate in. We offer students a well-rounded education through a rich variety of academic, cultural, sporting, citizenship and social.
We look forward to welcoming your family to our school.
